He Lost His Mother In A Bike Accident, Now He’s Fighting For His Life - Donate To Save Him

On the night of October 24, 2024, little Lekhan Gowda’s world fell apart. After closing their small roadside hotel, Lekhan and his parents were riding back home when a truck crashed into their bike near Doddaballapur. The accident took away his beloved mother, Hema, on the spot. His father, Madhu, is now in the ICU, and Lekhan himself is battling severe injuries, confined to a hospital bed.

Every day, this 7-year-old boy wakes up looking for his mother, only to be met with silence and tears from his grandmother, Bhagyamma, who is struggling to explain the truth.

A shattered family, a child’s unimaginable pain

The terrible accident has left Lekhan paralysed from below his waist. The once-active, playful child who loved cricket now lies drowsy and helpless, unable to stand or even move his legs. His injuries—a severe spinal injury and a fractured left leg—have left him a paraplegic. While the surgery can’t take away his pain and loss, it is the only way he can lead a better and more comfortable 

Every time he asks, “When will Amma come back?”, it brings fresh pain to his grandmother, who is not only grieving her daughter-in-law but also fighting against time to save her grandson’s life.

This grandmother is begging to save her grandson, help her 

Bhagyamma, a simple woman, has been by Lekhan’s side since the accident. His father, the family’s sole breadwinner, remains critical in the ICU, leaving Bhagyamma as the only one caring for Lekhan. She has already spent ₹5 lakh, borrowing from friends and relatives, but the family now needs ₹42 lakh more for urgent spinal fixation and femur surgeries to give Lekhan a chance to walk again.

“He’s just a child,” she pleads. “He doesn’t understand why this is happening to him. Please help me save my grandson.”

Without surgery, Lekhan’s future looks bleak. His body is paralysed, and he will be entirely dependent on others for even the smallest tasks. But with treatment, doctors believe he could regain some independence and perhaps even find his smile again.
