Kanwaljeet Is On A Mission To Save Countless Strays, You Can Help Her Too

Kanwaljeet is always on her toes from morning till evening. With more than 150 dogs in total in her shelter, 50+ dogs who need regular medical care, and 20 new accident cases each week, she doesn’t want to waste a single moment doing something else. For the last 15 years, she has built a safe haven for hundreds of stray dogs in Haridwar who have nowhere else to go. She now wants to help many more in need - would you support her?

A passionate animal lover, Kanwaljeet does everything she can to help these voiceless animals. Here’s a glimpse of her story that is an inspiration for all.  

Ever since she was a little girl, Kanwaljeet has always been an animal lover who wanted to do something for the helpless strays in her locality. Her passion only became stronger but there were challenges in her path. 

“People throw stones at them, tie crackers to their tails, and what not! Just a few days ago, I got a call about a dog in Haridwar who was lying on the pavement with no food or water, his whole body burning with fever. In this terrible heat, we are unable to go out - how heartless does one have to be to not help them?” - Kanwaljeet Kaur, Founder, Helping Hands For Speechless Souls

A timely call from a generous passer-by saved this dog’s life but there are so many strays in Haridwar who die without any treatment or are forced to starve to death. Kanwaljeet and her shelter are the only rays of hope for the speechless in Haridwar which is plagued by a lack of proper shelters and veterinary care.

Kanwaljeet is taking care of 150+ dogs right now - most of them need special care because either they are too old or have been paralyzed by accident. She needs food and medicines for them. But not just that, she wants to expand her shelter which was made on the land given by the local government.

About the NGO: Helping Hands For Speechless Souls is an NGO based out of Haridwar that is a safe home for over 150+ dogs. It is the first and only dog shelter in Haridwar and was founded by Kanwaljeet Kaur. She needs your help to save many more strays.
